In Akhalkalaki, Georgian books are not merely reading material — they are the main bridge between languages, cultures and friendship. In this region, learning the state language and integrating matter a great deal, and literature plays an enormous part in that. Bilingual dictionaries and specially adapted books with engaging illustrations are meant to kindle a love of the Georgian language in local children.

So pupils read together, learn new words through play, and with every page they turn help each other over the barriers.

We want the library to become a way for them to share what interests them — a place where they dream, learn and discover good stories together.
